From a neighbourhood braai
to a destination with heart.
The idea for Lodge Etale began in the most Namibian of ways—over a friendly neighbourhood braai. During a conversation with the Lodge’s two future managers, the developer recognised a clear need in Grootfontein: a comfortable, high-quality stopover for travellers journeying north.
From that conversation, the first seed was planted. In 2024, construction officially began, bringing to life a vision that would grow into far more than simply a place to spend the night.
Today, Lodge Etale is being developed as a welcoming destination where comfort, convenience and warm Namibian hospitality come together. With luxury tented accommodation, private campsites, The River Cellar Restaurant & Bar, Café Riva and the surrounding Wild Olive Garden Centre, guests have a peaceful place to rest, dine and recharge before continuing their journey.
